What do you wish you knew about your job when you first started out?

Be sure the employer dose what they promise, as far as your getting around the job site while on your tour of duty.

Keep track of pay rate on various accounts and length of contract at site.

I wished I had asked for a raise on a yearly basis...or at least irregularly, instead of never. I thought I was ahead of the rest in the beginning, and was satisfied. As the economy grew worse for the middle class over the last decades, I was worried they could find others desperate for a job, even though I knew I was better for the employer.
