Job Description for Senior Maintenance Technician
The senior maintenance technician helps keep their facilities clean and in working order. Depending on the needs of the organization, this may cover a large variety of tasks, such as repairing and performing regular maintenance on fixtures and equipment. They are also responsible for troubleshooting problems as they arise, identifying and addressing potential areas of concern, and operating equipment necessary to complete these tasks. Depending on the employer, these tasks may all take place within a building and its grounds or in several locations; it may also require more specialized maintenance tasks on systems such as security, plumbing, or irrigation. Senior maintenance technicians may also supervise junior maintenance technicians. The requirements for this position vary, with some positions requiring specialty knowledge or education. In many cases, a high school education or equivalent is sufficient, though an associate's degree in a relevant technical field may be preferred.
