Job Description for Senior Media Buyer

Senior media buyers are responsible for all media-buying for their clients and conduct research and planning to determine what is needed. Outstanding research and negotiating skills are important in this position, as they must be able to recognize valuable opportunities from all angles. Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work well on teams, and an affinity for media are also important.


Senior Media Buyer Tasks

  • Review invoices from media companies and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Negotiate advertising contracts with media companies to determine pricing and schedules.
  • Buy media advertising space for clients, and provide estimates of audience and costs.
  • Make sure clients receive compensation for advertisements that do not run when planned.
