The main job of a senior media planner is to build strong relationships with clients and provide strategies and innovative ideas for their media; as planners, they work closely with top executives and also assist junior-level staff with special projects.


Senior Media Planner Tasks

  • Review invoices from media companies and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Negotiate advertising contracts with media companies to determine pricing and schedules.
  • Buy media advertising space for clients, and provide estimates of audience and costs.
  • Make sure clients receive compensation for advertisements that do not run when planned.
