The senior medical technologist is often hired by laboratories that are usually found in hospitals or clinics. Almost all companies are looking for applicants that have a bachelor's degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science. In addition to a degree, some companies also require that the applicant is certified by the state as a technologist. The requirements for this certificate can vary depending on the state. In addition to the education and certification, many companies also desire that the applicant has a few years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting. The senior medical technologist will mostly be working in a laboratory environment, and the job does not generally include any travel.
