Senior online project managers oversee online projects for their organization, handling elements as schedules, milestones, cost/benefit analyses, and budgets. They develop and document technical project specifications according to organizational requirements, as well as use their analytical skills to identify problems in online projects and resolve them in a timely manner. Senior online project managers continuously work to optimize online performance by analyzing project data and recommending actionable improvements.
Additionally, senior online project managers guide cross-functional teams to achieve online project objectives; process daily information from internal systems, online vendors, and other sources; and proactively provide feedback to their employer as required. They also provide support for and participate in training sessions to with other staff members, as well as coordinate and track technology project schedules to ensure timely achievement of targeted outcomes.
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required for this position, as well as previous experience managing the day-to-day execution, optimization, and reporting of online projects. Experience in a managerial capacity may be required or preferred as well, and industry and leadership certifications may be beneficial. Senior online project managers must be organized individuals that pay close attention to detail and are able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They need to work well in a team setting, as well as on their own with minimal supervision.
