The senior program manager (unspecified type/general) is responsible for the management of specific programs and projects within the organization. Their main objective is to ensure that projects are completed on time, stay within budget, and meet all of the customer's requirements. Senior program managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations of their specific programs and projects, which typically includes program scheduling, planning, and pricing. Some senior program managers may also help manage other program workers and establish standard operating procedures to help control any risks associated with the programs. They also monitor key program performance metrics and perform quality and cost control initiatives and reviews. In addition, senior program managers perform ongoing research to find and develop best practices for project management.
