Job Description for Senior Property Management Accountant

Senior property management accountants work primarily at real estate management companies and carry out financial calculations for places such as retail locations and housing complexes. Because this is a senior position, a great degree of responsibility is generally required. These accountants may oversee several different property locations and the accounting departments within them, and will usually work with a separate accounts payable and receivable department.


Senior Property Management Accountant Tasks

  • Prepare quarterly calculations and schedules including rent adjustments, depreciation, and amortization of fixed assets.
  • Perform month end close, financial statement preparation, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Investigate budget variances.
  • Balance, adjust, correct, open, close, and reconcile accounts.
  • Recommend techniques to cut costs.
