Senior sales engineers, sometimes called system engineers or field consultants, They work with the sales team to help explain and demonstrate the technological aspects of the product being marketed. Senior sales engineers are trained intensively on sales techniques. Their goal is not just to sell a product, but to fully explain to a client how it will solve their issues. They provide advice to the clients and support for products. They help prospective clients understand why their product is a better resolution to a problem they’re having over another similar product.
Senior Sales Engineer Tasks
Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
Provide support as the primary technical resource for the field sales force.
Manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate.
Responsible for development and delivery of product demonstrations.
