Job Description for Senior Storage Engineer
Senior storage engineers are responsible for overseeing the use, maintenance, and expansion of data storage solutions for their entire company. They lead and coordinate a team of engineers to ensure that the company's data storage solutions are running optimally and that any network problems are fixed as quickly as possible. Senior storage engineers are expected to keep abreast of new developments related to data storage and spearhead implementation of new solutions whenever feasible. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining good working relations with external vendors, and they are expected to negotiate favorable deals for purchases necessary to complete their duties. Applicants for these positions are expected to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field such as computer science. Additionally, they must have at least five years experience in a similar job, including experience in designing, maintaining, running, and expanding data storage solutions.
