A senior telecommunications specialist oversees a variety of electronic communication media, typically supervising and working with a telecommunications or information technology (IT) department. They ensures that all the ways the organization communicates (such as company email, company phones and phone lines, and video-conferencing software and hardware) operate properly and at maximum efficiency, and they may make recommendations to an analyst or an IT or communications department head regarding potential improvements. They may help to establish organization rules for company-issued equipment and must ensure that all software and security measures are up-to-date and installed properly.
