Job Description for Software Test Analyst

A software test analyst is responsible for identifying issues with software and evaluating its overall quality throughout the development process. They must report issues with software to a supervisor or other designated individual. The software test analyst is usually responsible for identifying items to be evaluated by the test effort and defining the tests required to produce the necessary information to analyze the software; in each test cycle, the analyst needs to be able to evaluate the cycle's outcome and request any needed changes to the software.
