Senior operations project managers fulfill important oversight positions for large firms or companies. This position is more common in companies and industries in which specific clients or jobs are taken on by the company, such as construction, contracting or consulting. Senior project managers are usually assigned a particular number of specific projects (which vary depending on the company's field) and are in charge of the daily procedures and operations that occur in implementing their company’s services for that project. Senior operations project managers spend a great deal of their time directing their subordinates toward particular goals and delegating tasks to individuals. In addition, they may directly oversee their subordinates as they work to complete the project. Senior operations project managers may also keep track of expenses incurred throughout the course of a project and deliver reports and updates on projects to a board of representatives or executives of the company.
