What do you wish you knew about your job when you first started out?

"Important Skills To Have."
I have found that there are 2 kinds of skills, soft skills and hard skills. Soft skills are interpersonal skills like active listening, defuse arguments with timing, instructions and polite, concise language, and positive socializing with others. I think the most important skills are soft skills. For the work that I do or for any other field of work I strongly feel that having an edifying and uplifting personality and behavior is most important. I have found that contentious personalities and behavior create an atmosphere in the workplace that is stifling, oppressive and make it difficult to perform work/tasks well.
In my opinion, most job specific skills are learned on the job by doing them.
