Staffing consultants may perform a number of functions for clients. A main role is helping recruit high-quality employees that best fit job openings.They work directly with management to determine the desired type of employee and organize position advertising, recruitment, interviews, and job negotiations. Generally, staffing consultants hold a temporary position. For most companies, the consultant is needed when a position becomes open; however, for new companies and companies in transition, the consultant may be an integral part of helping the employer identify the type of employees they need. The staffing consultant is especially necessary when employers are having a difficult time filling specialized roles. The staffing consultant generally works indoors in an office environment, and they are required to travel (such as networking with candidates at job fairs and conventions).
