Job Description for Structural Iron Worker

Structural iron workers are responsible for creating structures, often for buildings, out of iron; in addition to developing buildings, they commonly work on teams which build bridges, as well. These workers are responsible for the creation and successful installation of iron girders and columns, as well as repairing old buildings and structures which may be dangerous to the public if not repaired. They also operate heavy machinery to move iron beams, poles, and girders to desired locations. It is essential that they have in-depth understanding of reading blueprints, as well.
