More than a Job
Technical Support Specialist - (City withheld for privacy), Oklahoma, United States
It's natural to initially focus on getting the most compensation for the job & position you fill in a company. When the urge to settle down and start a family creeps in, it changes your perspective about the other values to a job. Time spent with your spouse and the rest of your family does matter because that is just as important an aspect of who you are as the job you do. Having the ability to take time off when you need it without being made to feel you are stealing from the company is a huge benefit.

My company understands this and respects the time off people take to address personal issues. Of course, your employer will be more receptive to treating you as a respectable mature individual if you are one.

T-Mobile - Best place to work?
Technical Support Specialist - (City withheld for privacy), Pennsylvania, United States
I think not. I currently make $13.50/hr and it doesn't seem like enough for everything that I do. For the first 2 years of my career with Tmobile, I was working horrible hours with no weekends off. My days off were Tuesday and Wednesday. I missed out on a lot. The first raise I received in my first year with the company was 12 cents. This is unbelievable!! Tmobile is supposed to be one of the best places to work, but I know other Technical Support Specialists for other companies are making much more than I do. Our team was told "This company doesn't care about you. They only care about the customers." I sacrificed so many weekends and nights to this company and do not feel appreciated in anyway. So just beware to anyone attempting to apply for a position at this company. I guess that's why I'm on this site looking for a new job.
