A technical training instructor is an instructor who provides demonstrational events for consumers who are looking to purchase new products. This position is key to completing the sales cycle. The technical training instructor is required to have extensive knowledge of the product being sold so that any question that may arise during the demonstration can be answered. This position would require some hands-on experience in the development of the product.
This position will require frequent traveling to the consumers' locations to provide educational demonstrations to their purchasing departments or to educate their workers on how to use the product. This position will have to know the hazards of the product, along with what jobs and uses the product will have for consumers. The technical training instructor may be required to do some research on the consumer's company in order to point out benefits to the company.
This position should have a degree in education, public relations, instructional design, or a related field. The training instructor may also be required to be able to lift heavy loads in order to transport training products to use for the employees or consumer. This position requires the trainer to be on their feet for most of day. This position would be required to submit reports on scheduling of training dates. This training instructor would also be required to set up their own transportation to each location and would be responsible for recording these costs.
