Bank vice presidents and branch managers develop strong business relationships with bank customers and external vendors, as well as participate in business meetings to suggest new ideas for banking programs. They also communicate and cooperate with other branch managers and exchange relevant information as required. Bank vice presidents and branch managers also develop strategic plans for operations and review business reports. They strive to increase customer satisfaction and increase business accounts. These professionals participate in training sessions to implement new banking initiatives and provide leadership support in hiring decisions. They also approve new schedules and budgets as needed. Generally, they report their progress to the branch president or regional manager in their organization.
A bachelor's degree in finance, banking, business administration, or a related field is generally necessary for this job.
