VPs of facilities management actively participate in business meetings to suggest ideas to save company resources and provide recommendations to solves problems in the workplace, and they are also responsible for providing expert-level technical skills to help management complete tasks. They may also oversee cleaning, repair, and customer service staff to surpass client expectations and increase company revenue. They generally use a personal computer to maintain communication at all times and must be proficient with office software to create spreadsheets and complex word documents. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is generally required for this position, and prior experience as a facilities manager is highly beneficial. Industry certifications are also helpful.
