Job Description for Vocational Training Instructor
A vocational training instructor teaches students how to perform certain jobs or trades. Examples include heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), automotive trades, plumbing, cooking, hairdressing and certain healthcare jobs, among others. The vocational training instructor may be given material to teach from, or they may be responsible for developing the curriculum and lesson plans in a way that matches the goals of the course and institution. Vocational training instructors must teach lessons that are both informative and interesting to students, which includes hands-on demonstrations, visual aids and student evaluations. The instructor must stay up to date with developments in their field to incorporate into lessons.
