The city with the lowest median paycheck frequented by ASU alumni is Atlanta, Ga., where earnings average $46K. In addition, ASU grads flock to neighboring Birmingham, Ala. as well as Memphis, Tenn.

Former Hornets who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Bachelor of Science in Finance and earn a median salary of $64K per year. Ranking last in the compensation department are those holding a Bachelor of Science in Business & Marketing — their annual income amounts to around $44K on average.


Former Hornets who have experience with Project Management can expect to make double other alumni (about $85K on average). Customer Service is a popular skill among ASU alumni, with about one in four grads reporting using it on the job. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Office Administration is highly valued as well.

Benefits and Perks

Although half of the graduates are compensated for vacation days, only one-fifth of alumni are paid for sick time. A strong majority of alumni have medical plans, and a fair number of alumni have dental insurance. A strong majority of alums allocate some part of their earnings to a company-sponsored 401(k) savings plan. Alabama State University alumni are also on the receiving end of life insurance, a casual working environment, tuition reimbursement, and company pension plan.
