Graduates of Boise State head into a range of vocations when it comes to work; the health care services industry, the health care industry, and the commercial construction industry are just a few professional areas popular among alumni. The manufacturing industry is the sector most highly represented among alumni. Boise State graduates see an average starting salary of around $53K.


In the Boise State alumni community, men make a median salary of $62K compared to their female counterparts, who earn $51K.


The Boise State alumni who make the most are Electrical Engineers; they report a median pay of about $70K. Mechanical Engineers and Senior Web Developers draw in a fair amount as well — $65K and $53K, respectively. On the lower end, Technical Writers report making approximately $44K.


Rather than relocating after graduation, many Boise State alumni (approximately half of) end up finding permanent jobs in Boise. Boise State alumni seeking the highest salaries end up in Portland, Ore., which offers a median salary of about $67K. On the far end of the pay scale, Boise State alumni often reside in Meridian, Idaho, which is home to the lowest pay at $49K. Graduates also relocate to Seattle, Wash. and Twin Falls, Idaho.

Degree Major

With a median annual earnings of approximately $138K per year, former Broncos who have a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Management & Leadership are the best paid among the alumni population. Those holding a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Business Economics are less fortunate in terms of earnings, bringing in $28K on average per year.


Boise State alumni are often well versed in Project Management, with approximately one-eighth of grads ending up in jobs that require this skillset. Operations Management commands a pay premium of 57 percent for former Broncos. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Data Analysis command top-of-the-line rewards as well.

Benefits and Perks

Only two-fifths of alumni earn paid vacation and just one-fourth of alumni get paid sick time. Most alums take advantage of a 401(k) plan. Health benefits extend to a large number of graduates, and a majority of grads also receive dental coverage. Boise State University grads are also lucky enough to receive a casual working environment, life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
