Software as a service (SAAS) development, the financial services industry, and the manufacturing industry are just a few of the areas in which BYU grads find work. The majority of alumni accept jobs in the software development industry. Median pay for those who graduated from BYU amounts to $69K.


Graduates from this school who take the survey are more likely to be male — the male-to-female ratio is 3 to 1. There's a noticeable difference between the genders; where the average man hauls in $76K after graduating from BYU, the average woman earns only $45K.

Degree Major

Former Cougars who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) and earn a median salary of $109K per year. A Bachelor of Science in Economics is less advantageous in terms of earnings; alums with this degree are the lowest earners with a median annual pay of $56K.


Roughly a seventh of BYU grads wind up using Project Management at their job, which is one of the most common skills among alumni. Former Cougars who have experience with Java can expect to make 22 percent more than other alumni (around $84K on average). Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Data Analysis are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Just two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and merely one in four survey participants get paid sick time. Most survey participants save up for retirement through a 401(k) plan. Health insurance benefits extend to a large number of respondents, and a fair number of survey participants sign up for dental plans. Alumni of Brigham Young University also take in a casual working environment, life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
