Graduates of CSUF head into a range of vocations when it comes to work; the health care industry, the aerospace and defense industry, and the education industry are just a few professional areas popular among alumni. Among CSUF grads, the manufacturing industry is a commonly chosen career field. Those with a degree from CSUF tend to make $57K.


Among CSUF graduates, the biggest earners are Software Engineers, who haul in approximately $79K on average. Next on the list are Accounting Managers and Marketing Directors, bringing in about $75K and $63K, respectively. On the lower end, Office Managers report making $45K.


A large number of students head to Irvine after college. Another city that attracts a wealth of CSUF grads is Los Angeles; given its high compensation (around $68K is the average salary), the city's popularity should come as no surprise. Though Anaheim takes the cake for lowest pay among CSUF grads (the median salary is $55K there), it remains a common destination for former students. Close-by Orange and Santa Ana are also desirable cities among CSUF alumni.


The highest paychecks can be found at The Walt Disney Company, where some CSUF grads go to work for pay averaging around $79K. Salaries are decidedly lower at Bank of America Corp. (BOFA), though, where employees earn $45K on average.

Degree Major

A Master of Business Administration (MBA), Finance will compensate CSUF grads at a much higher rate than other fields — these alums tend to rake in $95K per year. Those with a B.A. in Psychology face salaries on the lower end, coming in close to about $47K per year.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office is common among CSUF alumni, and when it comes to using it on the job, about a seventh of former students report doing so. Financial Analysis commands a pay premium of 21 percent for former Titans. Microsoft Excel, Project Management, and Customer Service are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Only about two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and one-third of alumni receive sick leave. The greater part of alums have medical plans, and a fair portion of former students have dental insurance. A solid majority of graduates opt for a 401(k) to save for retirement. Graduates of California State University are also recipients of a casual working environment, life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
