Graduates of CSUF go into the manufacturing industry, the aerospace and defense industry, and the retail industry, not to mention a variety of other lines of work. The majority of alumni accept jobs in the health care industry. The average starting salary for a graduate of CSUF is $56K.


The most generous salaries among CSUF alumni are reportedly earned by Human Resources Directors, whose median earnings come to approximately $103K, followed by Finance Managers ($84K) and Software Engineers (about $82K). With a median annual earnings of about $108K per year, former Titans who have a Bachelor of Science in Business Management are the best paid among the alumni population. The degree that warrants the lowest level of financial compensation is a Some college coursework with no degree ($36K on average annually).


Competency in Financial Reporting translates into above-average pay for former Titans — they earn 26 percent more than their fellow graduates. Microsoft Excel is a popular skill among CSUF alumni, with around a sixth of workers reporting using it on the job. In addition, those who are savvy in Microsoft Office, Project Management, and Customer Service are also considered highly skilled.

Benefits and Perks

Though vacation and sick days are paid for some, these benefits are reported by the minority of graduates (two-fifths of alumni and one in three grads, respectively). A fair number of grads opt for a 401(k) to save for retirement. Health benefits extend to a strong majority of alumni, and a majority of alums also receive dental coverage. Alumni of California State University also take in a casual working environment, life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
