CUA alumni belong to a wide range of sectors. A few fields in which grads tend to find work include the health care industry, the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, and the banking industry. The most highly represented industry among alumni is the architectural services industry. CUA graduates in the health care information technology (it) services industry are hard pressed to find, with less than two percent of former students taking up work in this field. Graduates of CUA earn around $66K on average.

Design Architects win the contest for best-paid CUA alumni, making $75K on average every year, though Registered Nurses (approximately $70K), and Financial Analysts (about $63K) are not far behind. Collecting the smallest paychecks are Architectural Designers — they bring in $41K.

Many CUA students are Washington, DC-bound following college. CUA grads also flock to Rockville, Md., which is home to salaries significantly above average (median pay is $99K). New York, N.Y. is a popular spot for former CUA students at the opposite end of the pay scale; in fact, average salaries there are the lowest at $50K. Other cities of interest include Baltimore, Md. and Los Angeles, Calif.

Degree Major

CUA grads who hold a Juris Doctor (JD), Law can expect to fare better than most fellow alumni, earning an average approximately $145K per year. Those with a Master of Social Work (MSW), Clinical Social Work (CSW) face salaries on the lower end, coming in at an average $45K per year.

CUA grads are usually competent in Project Management, and slightly less than one-fifth of alumni continue practicing this skill in their career. For Catholic University of America grads, proficiency in Project Management warrants a paycheck that is 27 percent more than other alumni salaries. AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Word are among other dominant skills.

Benefits and Perks

A lucky minority (about one-third of alumni) are fortunate enough to be compensated for vacation while just one-fourth of alumni get sick time. Most former students save for retirement through a 401(k) plan. Health coverage is awarded to a large number of grads, and dental insurance is issued to most respondents as well. Additional benefits handed to Catholic University of America alumni include life insurance, a casual working environment, tuition reimbursement, and flexible hours.

Related Schools

Alumni of Saint Louis University pick up average paychecks of $67K, which is closest to the amount made by CUA grads among similar schools. Other schools similar to CUA include Howard University, Lehigh University, and Teachers College at Columbia University.
