The most highly represented industry among alumni is the manufacturing industry. Former CWU graduates tend to bring in $55K.


In the CWU alumni community, men make a median salary of around $63K compared to their female counterparts, who earn $52K.


Among CWU graduates, the biggest earners are Financial Controllers, who haul in $72K on average. Next on the list are Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers, bringing in approximately $66K and $63K, respectively. Sliding in near the bottom are Administrative Assistants, who report earnings of about $36K.


The most popular destination for former CWU students is Seattle. Yakima is also a common destination for CWU grads and offers the best pay with a median salary of $67K. Home to the lowest median salary for CWU alumni is Tacoma, a popular place for former students despite its about $50K average paycheck. Other popular cities for CWU alumni include nearby Bellevue and Redmond.

Degree Major

CWU grads who hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics can expect to fare better than most fellow alumni, earning $86K per year. On the other end of the spectrum, those with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality & Tourism tend to do the worst in terms of salary, making $42K per year.


Former Wildcats who have experience with Operations Management can expect to make 37 percent more than other alumni (around $75K on average). Around one in six grads report using Microsoft Excel as part of their job, making it the most popular skill. Microsoft Office, Project Management, and Financial Reporting are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Only two-fifths of alumni for this school enjoy paid vacation days and about one in three grads get paid sick time. The greater part of former students save for retirement through a 401(k) plan. Health coverage is awarded to the greater part of alumni, and dental insurance is issued to a fair portion of former students as well. Graduates of Central Washington University are also recipients of a casual working environment, a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
