CWU alumni find work in an assortment of industries including the construction industry, the software development industry, and the health care industry. The majority of CWU alumni wind up in the manufacturing industry. Typical pay for those who graduated from CWU amounts to around $54K.

After college, a notable gender gap appears: the average female graduate makes $52K where the average male graduate hauls home approximately $63K.

The biggest paychecks among CWU alumni are earned by Financial Controllers — these former students make $72K per year. The next biggest paychecks go to Senior Accountants ($66K) and Accounting Managers ($63K). Those with a degree from CWU often relocate to Seattle after college. Yakima is another hot spot for CWU grads, where salaries rank at the top of the pay scale (compensation averages out to $65K). Microsoft Excel is a popular skill among CWU alumni, with nearly one in six grads reporting using it on the job. Knowledge of Operations Management seems to be related to bigger paychecks; in fact, skilled alumni bring in salaries that are 37 percent more than their former classmates' salaries ($74K). Other prime know-hows include Microsoft Office, Project Management, and Financial Reporting.

Benefits and Perks

Lacking in the benefits department, just two-fifths of alumni report compensation for sick days and only one in three grads get vacation time. Health coverage is awarded to a solid majority of respondents, and dental insurance is issued to a fair portion of respondents as well. The greater part of alumni participate in a 401(k) program. Additional perks enjoyed by Central Washington University grads include a casual working environment, life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
