The top-paying city popular with ETSU alumni is Bristol, Tenn., which offers a median salary of about $104K. On the far end of the pay scale, ETSU alumni often reside in Nashville, Tenn., which is home to the lowest pay at $58K. Neighboring Knoxville, Tenn. is another common pick among ETSU grads, along with Gastonia, N.C.
ETSU students with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) can expect to make the most money (approximately $82K on average per year) compared to their fellow graduates. Those with a Bachelor of Science in Bachelor of Science (BS / BSc) face salaries on the lower end, coming in at an average $48K per year.
Microsoft Word is a popular skill among ETSU alumni, with roughly one in ten workers reporting using it on the job. Former Buccaneers who have experience with System Administration can expect to make 20 percent more than other alumni ($72K on average). A little less than half of the survey participants are allowed to take paid time off for vacation, but only about one in four survey participants get paid sick leave. Health coverage is awarded to a large number of grads, and dental insurance is issued to a fair number of grads as well. Most grads save up for retirement through a 401(k) plan. East Tennessee State University graduates also take advantage of a casual working environment, a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, and 403(b).
