Close-by Knoxville, Tenn. and Gastonia, N.C. are also desirable cities among ETSU alumni.
Among the highest-paid ETSU alumni are those with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) — they earn close to approximately $82K on average per year. A Bachelor of Science in Bachelor of Science (BS / BSc) is less advantageous in terms of earnings; alums with this degree are the lowest earners with a median annual pay of $48K.
System Administration commands a pay premium of 22 percent for former Buccaneers. ETSU alumni are often well versed in Microsoft Word, with roughly one in ten grads ending up in jobs that require this skillset. Other top skills include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Customer Service.
Benefits and Perks
Slightly less than half of the survey participants report receiving paid vacation days, but just one-fourth of alumni are paid for sick leave. A large number of survey participants have medical plans, and a majority of grads have dental insurance. Most respondents participate in a 401(k) retirement savings plan. East Tennessee State University alumni are rewarded with additional benefits, such as a casual working environment, a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, and 403(b).
Alumni of Indiana State University pick up average paychecks of $59K, which is closest to the amount made by ETSU grads among similar schools. Other schools similar to ETSU include Middle Tennessee State University, Tennessee State University, and East Carolina University.
