Florida Atlantic alumni belong to a wide range of sectors. A few fields in which grads tend to find work include the software development industry, the retail industry, and the accounting, auditing and tax services industry. The most highly represented industry among alumni is the health care industry. Median pay for those who graduated from Florida Atlantic amounts to $52K.


There is a sizable difference between men's post-college salaries and women's: the median for the former is $61K, but the median for the latter is only around $50K.


The most generous salaries among Florida Atlantic alumni are reportedly earned by Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, whose median earnings come to approximately $90K, followed by Senior Tax Accountants (about $69K) and .NET Software Developers ($67K). Sliding in near the bottom are Accountants, who report earnings of $45K.


Upon earning their degrees, many Florida Atlantic grads prefer to remain in Boca Raton; in fact, approximately one-sixth of grads appreciate the area so much that they find permanent jobs there. With a median salary of about $52K, Boca Raton, Fla. represents the highest-paid city popular among Florida Atlantic grads. On the flipside, the lowest-paying city popular among Florida Atlantic grads is Miami, Fla. (median compensation is $50K). Close-by West Palm Beach, Fla. and New York, N.Y. are also desirable cities among Florida Atlantic alumni.

Degree Major

Former Owls who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) and earn a median salary of $90K per year. A Bachelor of Science in Psychology commands less pay, and these degree-holders face median pay of $35K.


Knowledge of Engineering Design seems to be related to bigger paychecks; in fact, skilled alumni bring in salaries that are 39 percent more than their former classmates' salaries (approximately $72K). Microsoft Excel is a popular skill among Florida Atlantic alumni, with approximately one in six grads reporting using it on the job. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and Financial Analysis are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Just two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and merely one-third of alumni get paid sick time. A strong majority of alums save for retirement through a 401(k) plan. Health coverage is awarded to a fair number of alumni, and dental insurance is issued to the larger part of alumni as well. Florida Atlantic University alumni are rewarded with additional benefits, such as life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.
