Graduates of HPU head into a range of vocations when it comes to work; the software development industry, the education industry, and the banking industry are just a few professional areas popular among alumni. The most popular career sector among alumni is the manufacturing industry. Former HPU graduates bring in $54K on average.


Male graduates of HPU out-earn their female counterparts significantly, earning an average of about $63K versus approximately $50K for women.


Information Technology Managers win the contest for best-paid HPU alumni, making $100K on average every year, though Commodity Managers ($80K), and Senior Marketing Managers ($76K) are not far behind. Sitting at the bottom of the pay scale are Administrative Coordinators who make an average of around $38K.


Many HPU grads flock to Greensboro, N.C. HPU grads also flock to Alpharetta, Ga., which is home to salaries significantly above average (median pay is $71K). Home to the lowest median salary for HPU alumni is Boston, Mass., a popular place for former students despite its about $33K average paycheck. Other cities of interest among HPU alumni include nearby High Point, N.C. and Winston-Salem, N.C.

Degree Major

A Master of Business Administration (MBA), Business Administration earns HPU students the most money after college (an average approximately $97K per year). Ranking last in the compensation department are those holding a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management — their annual income amounts to $35K on average.


Many former HPU students are familiar with Microsoft Office, and just under a fifth of grads move on to positions where this experience is utilized. Former Panthers who have experience with Project Management can expect to make 50 percent more than other alumni ($81K on average). Also considered top-notch skills are Project Management, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.

Benefits and Perks

Only about one-third of alumni enjoy paid vacation and one-fifth of alumni receive sick leave. For this school, a fair number of alumni are the recipients of health benefits, and the larger part of former students pick up dental plans, too. A strong majority of grads set aside retirement funds in an employer-sponsored 401(k).
