Graduates of HPU work in a variety of sectors including the software development industry, the banking industry, and the education industry. The majority of HPU alumni wind up in the manufacturing industry. Median pay for those who graduated from HPU amounts to around $54K.


After graduation, disparities in salary rise to the surface — males earn an average $63K per year compared to females' $50K.


The most lucrative professionals among HPU alumni are Information Technology Managers; they earn a median annual salary of about $100K. Also approaching the top of the pay scale at $80K and approximately $76K, respectively, are Commodity Managers and Senior Marketing Managers. Administrative Coordinators wrap up the bottom of the pay scale, earning $38K.


Winston-Salem, N.C. is a hot spot for HPU alum. The top-paying city popular with HPU alumni is Greensboro, N.C., which offers a median salary of around $66K. High Point University grads are so loyal to High Point that a sizable number choose to stay after graduating, despite median salary there ranking lowest among popular cities ($44K). Other popular cities for HPU alumni include nearby Raleigh, N.C. and Charlotte, N.C.

Degree Major

Financial compensation is highest for HPU grads with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Business Administration (average earnings climb to approximately $97K per year). On the other end of the spectrum, those with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management tend to do the worst in terms of salary, making an average $35K per year.


For former Panthers, proficiency in Project Management warrants a paycheck that is 49 percent more than other alumni salaries. HPU alumni are often well versed in Microsoft Office, with just under one-fifth of grads ending up in jobs that require this skillset. Demonstrated ability in Project Management, Microsoft Word, and Customer Service rank among leading skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Only about one in three grads enjoy paid vacation and one in five survey participants receive sick leave. Health coverage is awarded to a fair number of grads, and dental insurance is issued to more than half of graduates as well. A fair number of survey participants plan for retirement by taking advantage of a company-sponsored 401(k) program. High Point University graduates also take advantage of life insurance, a casual working environment, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
