Graduates of HPU work in a variety of sectors including the software development industry, the education industry, and the manufacturing industry. The most highly represented industry among alumni is the banking industry. Those with an education from HPU earn an average of $54K.


Male graduates do tend to earn more than female graduates; the first group banks approximately $64K per year, but the second group takes home only $49K.


The most lucrative professionals among HPU alumni are Information Technology Managers; they earn a median annual salary of around $100K. Also approaching the top of the pay scale at $76K and $62K are Senior Marketing Managers and Human Resources Generalists. Sitting at the bottom of the pay scale are Staff Accountants, making an average of about $37K.


The most popular destination for former HPU students is Greensboro. HPU alumni seeking the highest salaries end up in New York, which offers median salaries of $73K. Many former Panthers can't resist staying in High Point after graduating despite the median salaries there ranking lowest among popular cities (approximately $42K). Neighboring Winston-salem is another common pick among HPU grads, along with Raleigh.

Degree Major

Financial compensation is highest for HPU grads with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) (earnings climb to about $106K per year). A Bachelor of Science in Accounting commands less pay, and these degree-holders face salaries of around $34K.


Microsoft Office is a common skill among HPU alumni — approximately one in six grads mention using it at work. Marketing Management commands a pay premium of 42 percent for former Panthers. Project Management, Customer Service, and Microsoft Excel are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Just two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and merely one in three grads get paid sick time. A fair portion of graduates save for retirement through a 401(k) plan. Dental insurance applies to a majority of alums, and a fair portion of alums report health coverage. Other benefits that High Point University alumni receive are a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.
