The majority of HBU alumni wind up in the oil and gas field services industry. The support activities for oil and gas operations industry is perhaps the least commonly worked industry among HBU grads, with approximately five percent of former students experienced in this area. Those with an education from HBU earn an average of around $57K.

After college, a notable gender gap appears: the average female graduate makes $55K where the average male graduate hauls home $117K.

More often than not, HBU grads continue living in Houston, Texas (a solid majority of former students to be exact) even though the average salary here takes last place on the pay scale (approximately $55K). On the opposite end of the pay scale is Austin, Texas, a top-paying city for HBU grads looking to earn a larger-than-average sum (this city has a median pay of about $127K).

Degree Major

Financial compensation is highest for HBU grads with a B.A. in Bachelor of Arts (BA) (average earnings climb to $137K per year). On the other end of the spectrum, those with a B.A. in Accounting tend to do the worst in terms of salary, making an average $43K per year.

Former Huskies who have experience with Regulatory Compliance can expect to make 193 percent more than other alumni ($168K on average). Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is a popular skill among HBU alumni, with slightly less than a fifth of workers reporting using it on the job. Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Excel, Project Management, and Microsoft Office rank among leading skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

A majority of grads enjoy both paid vacation and paid sick time. To plan for old age, a large number of graduates maintain savings accounts through a company's 401(k) plan. Benefits are rather generous for graduates of this school; a large number of alums are rewarded with health insurance and a strong majority of former students report dental coverage, too. Additional benefits handed to Houston Baptist University alumni include a casual working environment, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a company-subsidized cell phone.

Related Schools

Hardin grads bring in salaries of around around $58K, making them the most similar to HBU alumni in terms of earnings. Trinity University, Samford University, and Jacksonville University are also similar to HBU.
