After graduation, women go on to earn an average of approximately $49K per year compared to men, who earn about $65K.


The most lucrative professionals among JSU alumni are Senior Software Engineers; they earn a median annual salary of $141K. Also approaching the top of the pay scale at $70K and around $61K are Information Technology Auditors and Accounting Managers. Relative to other positions, compensation dwindles for Clinical Supervisors; alumni in this role face average salaries of $35K.


The most popular destination for former JSU students is Birmingham. With a median salary of $69K, Atlanta represents the highest-paid city popular among JSU grads. On the other hand, JSU alumni who end up in Gadsden receive the lowest median salaries of about $43K. In addition, JSU grads flock to neighboring Anniston as well as Huntsville.

Degree Major

A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) & Mathematics leads to the highest pay for JSU grads ($116K per year). Graduates holding a bachelor's degree in social work fare the worst in terms of compensation with yearly salaries of around $33K.


Former Gamecocks with Operations Management experience garner salaries that are 34 percent more than other grads' salaries. Many former JSU students are familiar with Microsoft Office, and nearly one in seven grads move on to positions where this experience is utilized. Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Excel, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll Administration rank among leading skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Lacking in the benefits department, just two-fifths of alumni report compensation for sick days and only one-third of alumni get vacation time. The greater part of survey participants enjoy benefits like health insurance, while a majority of alums receive dental plans, too. To plan for old age, the greater part of grads maintain savings accounts through a company's 401(k) plan. Jacksonville State University graduates also take advantage of a casual working environment, life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, and flexible hours.
