MO State alumni belong to a wide range of sectors. A few fields in which grads tend to find work include the banking industry, the manufacturing industry, and the financial services industry. Among MO State grads, the health care industry is a commonly chosen career field. A far departure from high-scoring SAT results, MO State alumni report earning only moderate salaries after graduating. The average salary for a grad from MO State is $46K.


After graduation, women go on to earn an average of $43K per year compared to men, who earn approximately $53K.


Among MO State graduates, the biggest earners are Software Engineers, who haul in $66K on average. Next on the list are Construction Project Managers and Account Managers, bringing in around $60K and $47K, respectively. Salaries are anything but generous for Marketing Directors, where earnings rank lowest on the pay scale at about $34K.


Springfield is such a great city that MO State alumni tend to stick around after wrapping up their studies, with slightly less than a third of grads staying on to find permanent work. MO State alumni seeking the highest salaries end up in Seattle, which offers median salaries of $61K. On the far end of the pay scale, MO State alumni often reside in Branson, which is home to the lowest pay at $38K. Other cities of interest among MO State alumni include nearby St. Louis and Kansas City.

Degree Major

A Master of Science (MS), Physician Assistant Studies earns MO State students the most money after college (around $86K per year). Graduates holding a Bachelor of Science in General Business fare the worst in terms of compensation with yearly salaries of $29K.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office is common among MO State alumni, and when it comes to using it on the job, about one in eight former students report doing so. Former Bears with Project Management experience garner salaries that are 35 percent more than other grads' salaries. Other prime know-hows include Microsoft Excel, Project Management, and Customer Service.

Benefits and Perks

A lucky minority (about half of the alumni) are fortunate enough to be compensated for vacation while just one-third of alumni get sick time. Benefits are rather generous for graduates of this school; a strong majority of alumni are rewarded with health insurance and a majority of graduates report dental coverage, too. A strong majority of grads take advantage of a 401(k) plan. Missouri State University graduates also take advantage of life insurance, a casual working environment, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
