MO State alumni find work in an assortment of industries including the health care industry, the banking industry, and the software development industry. The most highly represented industry among alumni is the manufacturing industry. MO State students do not advance into high-paying positions after graduation despite their impressive SAT results. Median pay for those who graduated from MO State amounts to approximately $46K.


It's worth noting that female graduates earn a median salary of $43K whereas the men's median is around $54K.


MO State grads who become Human Resources Directors garner financial rewards beyond any other job type for this group — these alumni rake in $95K on average annually. However, Construction Project Managers and Software Engineers also rank as top-earners (bringing in $63K each). Human Resources Generalists pick up $32K in financial rewards, representing the lowest-paid position among alumni.


More often than not, MO State grads continue living in Springfield, Mo. (slightly less than a third of former students to be exact) even though the average salary here takes last place on the pay scale (about $40K). On the flipside, MO State grads seeking above-average pay can find soaring salaries in Seattle, Wash. where median pay is $80K. Kansas City and Chicago, both midwestern cities, are other common places for MO State alumni to take up residence.

Degree Major

Former Bears who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Accounting & Finance and earn a median salary of about $100K per year. Ranking last in the compensation department are those holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology — their annual income amounts to $33K on average.


Knowledge of Java seems to be related to bigger paychecks; in fact, skilled alumni bring in salaries that are 45 percent more than their former classmates' salaries ($67K). MO State alumni are often well versed in Microsoft Excel, with nearly one in eight grads ending up in jobs that require this skillset. In addition, those who are savvy in Microsoft Office, Project Management, and Data Analysis are also considered highly skilled.

Benefits and Perks

Nearly a half of former students do get paid time off for vacation, but only about one-third of alumni get paid sick time. A large number of respondents opt for a 401(k) to save for retirement. It is no small feat that a large number of grads are given health coverage, and the larger part of grads accept dental insurance. Missouri State University grads are also lucky enough to receive life insurance, a casual working environment, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
