MSU alumni belong to a wide range of sectors. A few fields in which grads tend to find work include the education industry, the banking industry, and the health care services industry. A large chunk of former MSU students are employed in the health care industry; in fact, this is the most popular job sector for this population. The real estate property management industry is perhaps the least commonly worked industry among MSU grads, with less than two percent of former students experienced in this area. Given the high SAT scores reported by MSU grads, their lower-than-average salaries are somewhat surprising. The average salary for a grad from MSU is $47K.


There's a noticeable difference between the genders; where the average man hauls in around $66K after graduating from MSU, the average woman earns only approximately $36K.


Information Technology Directors win the contest for best-paid MSU alumni, making $104K on average every year, though Network Engineers ($57K), and Revenue Cycle Analysts ($31K) are not far behind. Case Managers wrap up the bottom of the pay scale, earning about $29K.


The most popular destination for former MSU students is Lexington, Ky. Louisville, Ky. is also a common destination for MSU grads and offers the best pay with a median salary of around $70K. Ashland, Ky. is a popular spot for former MSU students at the opposite end of the pay scale; in fact, average salaries there are the lowest at $31K. Cincinnati, Ohio and Morehead, Ky. are popular choices as well.

Degree Major

Former Eagles who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Accounting and earn a median salary of $105K per year. Graduates holding a bachelor's degree in social work fare the worst in terms of compensation with an average yearly salary of about $31K.


Proficiency in Customer Service is common among MSU alumni, and when it comes to using it on the job, nearly one in seven former students report doing so. Microsoft Word commands a pay premium of 71 percent for former Eagles. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Budget Management are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Only one-third of alumni for this school enjoy paid vacation days and about one-fourth of alumni get paid sick time. A fair number of alumni have medical plans, and more than half of alumni have dental insurance. In an effort to save up for the years ahead, a strong majority of survey participants contribute to a 401(k). Other benefits awarded to Morehead State University alumni include a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, flexible hours, and a casual working environment.
