OSU alumni find work in an assortment of industries including the manufacturing industry, the banking industry, and the health care industry. The oil and gas exploration industry registers as the most common industry among alumni. The average starting salary for a graduate of OSU is $63K.


There's a noticeable difference between the genders; where the average man hauls in about $69K after graduating from OSU, the average woman earns only $54K.


Software Engineers win the contest for best-paid OSU alumni, making around $92K on average every year, though Engineering Project Managers ($83K), and Design Engineers ($71K) are not far behind. Sitting at the bottom of the pay scale are Accountants who make an average of approximately $55K.

Oklahoma State University pride remains intact long after college is over, and many former students choose to live in Stillwater despite the city offering some of the lowest median pay ($45K). Nearby Oklahoma City, Okla. is also a top pick for OSU grads, as is Dallas, Texas.

Degree Major

A graduate with a Master of Science (MS), Telecommunications Management from OSU can rake in a whopping average $100K per year, more than any other degree from this school. Average annual salaries for those with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration are the lowest of the pack, earning about $48K.


Microsoft Excel is a popular skill among OSU alumni, with one in seven grads reporting using it on the job. Former Cowboys who have experience with Project Management can expect to make 23 percent more than other alumni ($78K on average). Project Management, Microsoft Office, and Engineering Design are among other dominant skills.

Benefits and Perks

A lucky minority (about two-fifths of alumni) are fortunate enough to be compensated for vacation while just one-third of alumni get sick time. Health coverage is awarded to a large number of grads, and dental insurance is issued to a strong majority of alumni as well. To plan for old age, a large number of alums maintain savings accounts through a company's 401(k) plan. Oklahoma State University alumni are rewarded with additional benefits, such as life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.
