The biggest paychecks among OSU alumni are earned by Software Engineers — these former students make around $93K per year. The next biggest paychecks go to Project Engineers (about $71K) and Construction Project Managers (approximately $70K). Accountants get the short end of the stick when it comes to salary, where grads report making an average of $47K in this job.

Locations

Many OSU students are Tulsa-bound following college. In addition, former OSU students often head to Austin after graduating, where typical salaries come to about $82K in this top-paying city. Many former Cowboys consider Stillwater a second home, and it is typical to find a large population of former students living in the area despite its lower-than-average median pay (approximately $45K). Close-by Oklahoma City and Dallas are also desirable cities among OSU alumni.

Employers

OSU grads can make the most money at Halliburton Energy Services; average pay at this company is $82K. Salaries are decidedly lower at the school itself, where employees earn $43K on average.

Skills

Knowing Project Management can pay off big time for former Cowboys, who can expect a 24 percent bigger paycheck than other grads. Close to one-seventh of OSU grads wind up using Microsoft Excel at their job, which is one of the most common skills among alumni. In addition, those who are savvy in Project Management, Microsoft Office, and Engineering Design are also considered highly skilled.

Benefits and Perks

When it comes to benefits, there is room for improvement — only half of the alumni are paid for vacation and just one in three grads for sick time. For this school, a strong majority of alums are the recipients of health benefits, and most respondents pick up dental plans, too. The greater part of alums save for retirement through a 401(k) plan. Oklahoma State University grads are also lucky enough to receive life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.
