Former OSU students are professionally suited for a wide range of fields including the architectural services industry, the banking industry, and the engineering services industry. The most popular field is the manufacturing industry. Following graduation, OSU students earn an average of around $63K.

After college, a notable gender gap appears: the average female graduate makes $55K where the average male graduate hauls home about $68K.

OSU grads who become Veterinarians garner financial rewards beyond any other job type for this group — these alumni rake in an average $100K annually. However, Chemical Engineers and Design Engineers also rank as top-earners (bringing in $84K and $73K, respectively). Industrial Engineers face rather mediocre compensation — average salaries are actually the lowest at approximately $67K.

Many OSU grads end up living in Tulsa, Okla., deeming it the most popular city for former students of this school. The top-paying city popular with OSU alumni is Wichita, Kan., which offers a median salary of $78K. Though median pay is subpar (approximately $49K) relative to popular cities, choosing to stay in Stillwater after graduation is a common decision made by many alumni who have developed a love for the area. Nearby Oklahoma City, Okla. and Dallas, Texas also rank high on the list of cities for OSU grads.

Degree Major

Among the highest-paid OSU alumni are those with a Master of Science (MS), Electrical Engineering (EE) — they earn close to $103K on average per year. Ranking last in the compensation department are those holding a Bachelor of Science in Business & Marketing — their annual income amounts to around $30K on average.

Many OSU grads have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with one in six alumni using this program on the clock. Competency in Engineering Design translates into above-average pay for former Cowboys — they earn 15 percent more than their fellow graduates. Project Management, Microsoft Office, and Engineering Design are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

When it comes to benefits, there is room for improvement — only two-fifths of alumni are paid for vacation and just one in four survey participants for sick time. A large number of alums have medical plans, and a fair number of alums have dental insurance. Most grads take advantage of a 401(k) plan. Graduates of Oklahoma State University are also recipients of a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.

Related Schools

Alumni of Texas Tech University pick up average paychecks of $63K, which is closest to the amount made by OSU grads among similar schools. The University of North Texas, Kansas State University, and the University of Memphis are also similar to OSU.
