Graduates of ORU work in a variety of sectors including religious service, the education industry, and the health care services industry. Among ORU grads, the health care industry is a commonly chosen career field. Given the high SAT scores reported by ORU grads, their lower-than-average salaries are somewhat surprising. Former ORU graduates tend to bring in $48K.

There is a sizable difference between men's post-college salaries and women's: the median for the former is approximately $58K, but the median for the latter is only about $46K.

The most lucrative professionals among ORU alumni are Senior Pastors; they earn a median annual salary of around $58K. Also approaching the top of the pay scale at $56K and $50K are High School Teachers and Accountants. Youth Pastors pick up $29K in financial rewards, representing the lowest-paid position among alumni.

ORU alumni typically remain in Tulsa, the city they've grown to love, after graduation, and slightly less than a third of grads find permanent positions in the workforce here. It is no surprise that Fort Worth, which hands out the biggest paychecks (the average salary is $152K), is another of the most popular spots for former ORU students. The city with the lowest median paycheck frequented by ORU alumni is Washington, DC, where earnings average around $37K. Dallas and Seattle are also desirable cities.

Degree Major

A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) leads to the highest pay for ORU grads (about $121K per year). Annual salaries for those with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Media are the lowest of the pack, earning $33K.

For former Golden Eagles, proficiency in Operations Management warrants a paycheck that is 47 percent more than other alumni salaries. Proficiency in Project Management is common among ORU alumni, and when it comes to using it on the job, one-eighth of former students report doing so. Experience with Microsoft Office, Administration, and Leadership is highly valued as well.

Benefits and Perks

Though vacation and sick days are paid for some, these benefits are reported by the minority of graduates (half of the alumni and one in three grads, respectively). Health insurance benefits extend to a strong majority of respondents, and a majority of former students sign up for dental plans. A strong majority of alumni take advantage of a 401(k) plan. Oral Roberts University graduates also take advantage of a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, life insurance, and tuition reimbursement.

Related Schools

Elon University graduates, who earn approximately $48K on average, make a similar amount to ORU grads. The University of Evansville, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Spring Hill College are also similar to ORU.
