ORU alumni can most commonly be found in the education industry, religious service, and the health care services industry, though they are employed throughout a wide range of sectors. The most popular field is the health care industry. The average starting salary for a graduate of ORU is $51K.

After graduation, disparities in salary rise to the surface — males earn an average about $61K per year compared to females' $50K.

Former ORU students with an interest in making money consider becoming VPs of Finance and Chief Financial Officers, the highest-paying gig (average earnings amount to $155K) among this alumni group. Other well-paid jobs include Directors of Operations (around $134K) and Senior Pastors ($58K). Executive Directors face rather mediocre compensation — average salaries are actually the lowest at approximately $32K.

Upon earning their degrees, many ORU grads prefer to remain in Tulsa; in fact, slightly less than a third of grads appreciate the area so much that they find permanent jobs there. Fort Worth, Texas is also a common destination for ORU grads and offers the best pay with a median salary of $155K. Though Washington, DC takes the cake for lowest pay among ORU grads (the median salary is $37K there), it remains a common destination for former students. Graduates also relocate to Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Ga.

Degree Major

Financial compensation is highest for ORU grads with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) (average earnings climb to around $133K per year). A B.A. in Psychology is less advantageous in terms of earnings; alums with this degree are the lowest earners with a median annual pay of about $33K.

Former Golden Eagles with Project Management experience garner salaries that are 40 percent more than other grads' salaries. Around a seventh of grads report using Project Management as part of their job, making it the most popular skill. Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office, Administration, and Microsoft Excel rank among leading skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

As for time away from work, slightly less than half of the alumni are compensated for vacation days, but only one in three grads can take paid time off due to illness. A large number of graduates set up a 401(k) to save for retirement. Dental insurance applies to more than half of alums, and most alums report health coverage. Graduates of Oral Roberts University are also recipients of a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, life insurance, and tuition reimbursement.

Related Schools

Among alumni of similar schools, Elon University grads (who make an average of $51K) earn salaries most similar to ORU alumni. The University of Evansville, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Spring Hill College are also similar to ORU.
