SFU alumni belong to a wide range of sectors. A few fields in which grads tend to find work include the education industry, IT services, and the banking industry. The most highly represented industry among alumni is the health care industry. Less than five percent of SFU grads move into clinical care — it is the road least traveled for this demographic. Former SFU graduates tend to bring in $59K.

Jobs

The SFU alumni who make the most are Physician Assistants; they report a median pay of $79K. Human Resources Directors and Physical Therapists draw in a fair amount as well — around $64K and $62K. Sliding in near the bottom are Network Operations Specialists, who report earnings of approximately $49K.

Locations

Home to a large number of SFU alums, Pittsburgh is by far the most attractive city for these former students. SFU grads also flock to New York, which is home to salaries significantly above average (typical pay is about $83K). Johnstown is a popular spot for former SFU students at the opposite end of the pay scale; in fact, average salaries there are the lowest at $35K. SFU alumni express interest in nearby Altoona and State College as well.

Degree Major

Former Red Flashes who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Master's Degree, Physician Assistant Studies and earn around $105K per year. Annual salaries for those with a Bachelor of Science in Business & Marketing are the lowest of the pack, earning $45K.

Skills

Former Red Flashes who have experience with Surgery can expect to make 51 percent more than other alumni (about $90K on average). Operations Management is a common skill among SFU alumni — less than ten percent of grads mention using it at work. Experience with Geriatrics, Microsoft Office, and Financial Reporting is highly valued as well.

Benefits and Perks

A majority of the survey participants can rely on paid vacation days, but just one-third of alumni have the luxury of paid sick time. A solid majority of former students have medical plans, and most graduates have dental insurance. A strong majority of survey participants set aside retirement funds in an employer-sponsored 401(k). Saint Francis University graduates also take advantage of life insurance, tuition reimbursement, a company-subsidized cell phone, and a casual working environment.
