The health care industry is the sector most highly represented among alumni. On the other end of the spectrum is clinical care, which attracts less than five percent of SFU alumni. Former SFU graduates bring in $64K on average.


In the SFU alumni professional community, Physician Assistants make the highest median pay ($78K).


A large number of students head to Johnstown, Pa. after college. It is no surprise that Pittsburgh, Pa., which hands out the biggest paychecks (the average salary is about $63K), is another of the most popular spots for former SFU students. Home to the lowest median salary for SFU alumni is Altoona, Pa., a popular place for former students despite its approximately $31K average paycheck.

Degree Major

A graduate with a Master's Degree, Physician Assistant Studies from SFU can rake in a whopping average $105K per year, more than any other degree from this school. The degree that warrants the lowest level of financial compensation is a B.A. in Communication ($46K on average annually).


Competency in Surgery translates into above-average pay for former Red Flashes — they earn 65 percent more than their fellow graduates. Many SFU grads have knowledge of Geriatrics, with about one in ten alumni using this program on the clock. Experience with Operations Management, Accounts Payable, and Internal Medicine is highly valued as well.

Benefits and Perks

Paid vacation days are a given for a majority of alums, but only one in three grads are rewarded with paid sick leave. A strong majority of alumni have medical plans, and a strong majority of grads have dental insurance. A fair number of survey participants set up a 401(k) to save for retirement. Graduates of Saint Francis University are also recipients of life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.
