Graduates of the USF head into a range of vocations when it comes to work; the education industry, IT services, and the banking industry are just a few professional areas popular among alumni. The majority of USF alumni wind up in the health care industry. USF graduates in clinical care industry are hard pressed to find, with less than five percent of former students taking up work in this field. Starting salaries of $60K are common among USF grads.


Among USF graduates, the biggest earners are Physician Assistants, who haul in $79K on average. Next on the list are Human Resources Directors and Physical Therapists, bringing in around $64K and $62K, respectively. Sliding in near the bottom are Accountants, who report earnings of about $44K.


Pittsburgh is a hot spot for USF alum. The top-paying city popular with USF alumni is New York, which offers median salaries of $83K. On the far end of the pay scale, USF alumni often reside in Johnstown, which is home to the lowest pay at approximately $35K. Close-by Altoona and State College are also desirable cities among USF alumni.

Degree Major

Among the highest-paid USF alumni are those with a Master's Degree, Physician Assistant Studies — they earn close to around $105K per year. On the other end of the spectrum, those with a Bachelor of Science in Business & Marketing tend to do the worst in terms of salary, making $45K per year.


Former Red Flashes who have experience with Surgery can expect to make 50 percent more than other alumni (about $90K on average). USF grads are usually competent in Operations Management, and less than ten percent of alumni continue practicing this skill in their career. Other top skills include Microsoft Office, Geriatrics, and Microsoft Excel.

Benefits and Perks

Slightly more than half of the survey participants can rely on paid vacation days, but just one in three grads have the luxury of paid sick time. A solid majority of respondents have medical plans, and a fair portion of former students have dental insurance. The greater part of grads save up for retirement through a 401(k) plan. Other benefits awarded to Saint Francis University alumni include life insurance, tuition reimbursement, a company-subsidized cell phone, and 403(b).
