Graduates of SLU are found working in a number of different fields including clinical care, the financial services industry, and higher education. The most popular career sector among alumni is the health care industry. SLU graduates in the manufacturing industry are hard pressed to find, with less than two percent of former students taking up work in this field. SLU graduates see an estimated starting salary of approximately $62K.

The most generous salaries among SLU alumni are reportedly earned by Physician Assistants, whose earnings come to about $85K, followed by Management Consultants ($72K) and Attorneys ($66K). Relative to other positions, compensation dwindles for Financial Analysts; alumni in this role face average salaries of $50K.

Many SLU students are St. Louis-bound following college. It is also not uncommon to find former SLU students living and working in Atlanta — this top-paying city is a popular destination with a median salary of $89K. SLU alumni in Chicago can often be found sliding in at the lower end of the pay scale, where median paychecks are the smallest at around $56K. Dallas and New York are also desirable cities.

SLU alumni are often well versed in Microsoft Excel, with roughly one in ten grads ending up in jobs that require this skillset. Former Billikens with Budget Management abilities can expect to make 21 percent more than their former classmates ($75K). Proficiency in Project Management, Microsoft Office, and Financial Analysis command top-of-the-line rewards as well.

Benefits and Perks

When it comes to benefits, there is room for improvement — only two-fifths of alumni are paid for vacation and just one in four survey participants for sick time. A strong majority of grads allocate some part of their earnings to a company-sponsored 401(k) savings plan. A strong majority of respondents receive health insurance, and most alums get dental coverage. Saint Louis University grads are also lucky enough to receive life insurance, tuition reimbursement, a casual working environment, and a company-subsidized cell phone.
