The most popular professional field seems to be the health care industry. Starting salaries of approximately $72K are the median among SLU grads.

Gender

There is a sizable difference between men's post-college salaries and women's: the median for the former is $82K, but the median for the latter is only about $62K.

Locations

Many SLU grads end up living in St. Louis, Mo., deeming it the most popular city for former students of this school. Kansas City, Mo. is also a common destination for SLU grads and offers the best pay with a median salary of $103K. Though Denver, Colo. takes the cake for lowest pay among SLU grads (the median salary is $73K there), it remains a common destination for former students.

Degree Major

Former Billikens who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and earn a median salary of around $90K per year. Those holding a Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Jurisprudence, or Master of Law (LLM) are less fortunate in terms of earnings, bringing in $70K on average per year.

Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is common among SLU alumni, and when it comes to using it on the job, nearly one in eight former students report doing so. Regulatory Compliance commands a pay premium of 43 percent for former Billikens. Proficiency in Legal Compliance, Business Intelligence, and Marketing Management command top-of-the-line rewards as well.

Benefits and Perks

Slightly more than half of the graduates are allowed to take paid time off for vacation, but only about one-third of alumni get paid sick leave. Most graduates opt for a 401(k) to save for retirement. Health benefits extend to a large number of alumni, and a strong majority of former students also receive dental coverage. Saint Louis University alumni are also on the receiving end of life insurance, tuition reimbursement, a casual working environment, and a company-subsidized cell phone.
