It is no surprise that Oakland, Calif., which hands out the biggest paychecks (the average salary is $114K), is another of the most popular spots for former SMC students. On the flipside, the lowest-paying city popular among SMC grads is San Francisco, Calif. (median compensation is $70K).

Benefits and Perks
Although slightly more than two-fifths of graduates are compensated for vacation days, only one-third of alumni are paid for sick time. Most survey participants plan for retirement by taking advantage of a company-sponsored 401(k) program. It is no small feat that a large number of alumni are given health coverage, and a large number of grads accept dental insurance. Graduates of Saint Marys College of California are also recipients of a casual working environment, flexible hours, tuition reimbursement, and optional telecommute / work from home.
Monterey Institute of International Studies graduates, who earn approximately $75K on average, make a similar amount to SMC grads. Other schools similar to SMC include Santa Clara University, California Lutheran University, and Antioch University-Los Angeles.
