The financial services industry is the sector most highly represented among alumni. Graduates of SJU earn $72K on average.

Degree Major

A law degree will compensate SJU grads at a much higher rate than other degrees — these alums rake in $125K on average per year. Ranking last in the compensation department are those holding a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations (PR) — their annual income amounts to around $28K on average.


Microsoft Excel is a common skill among SJU alumni — about a seventh of grads mention using it at work. Knowledge of Operations Management seems to be related to bigger paychecks; in fact, skilled alumni bring in salaries that are 24 percent more than their former classmates' salaries ($90K). In addition, those who are savvy in Microsoft Office, Customer Service, and Project Management are also considered highly skilled.

Benefits and Perks

Just one-third of alumni enjoy paid vacation and merely one-fourth of alumni get paid sick time. Most respondents set up a 401(k) to save for retirement. A large number of former students enjoy benefits like health insurance, while a majority of grads receive dental plans, too. Other benefits that St John's University alumni receive are life insurance, a casual working environment, tuition reimbursement, and a company-subsidized cell phone.
