Knowledge of Budget Management seems to be related to bigger paychecks; in fact, skilled alumni bring in salaries that are 70 percent more than their former classmates' salaries (approximately $98K). Many former UMaine students are familiar with Microsoft Excel, and slightly less than one-fifth of grads move on to positions where this experience is utilized. Microsoft Office, Project Management, and Customer Service are among other dominant skills.

Benefits and Perks

Only one in three grads earn paid vacation and just one in five survey participants get paid sick time. In an effort to save up for the years ahead, most respondents contribute to a 401(k). A large number of alumni receive health insurance, and a majority of the survey participants get dental coverage. Other benefits that University of Maine alumni receive are life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, and company pension plan.
