Other well-paid jobs include Financial Controllers (about $70K) and Operations Managers ($68K). Non-Profit Organization Program Coordinators wrap up the bottom of the pay scale, earning approximately $40K.


The most popular destination for former UMaine students is Portland, Maine. With a median salary of $79K, New York, N.Y. represents the highest-paid city popular among UMaine grads. Belfast, Maine is a popular spot for former UMaine students at the opposite end of the pay scale; in fact, average salaries there are the lowest at around $36K. Graduates of UMaine also relocate to Bangor, Maine, which is not far away, and Boston, Mass.

Degree Major

A graduate with an Associate's Degree, Business & Marketing from UMaine can rake in a whopping average $130K per year, more than any other degree from this school. On the other end of the spectrum, those with a B.A. in Communication tend to do the worst in terms of salary, making an average $40K per year.


Many former UMaine students are familiar with Microsoft Excel, and nearly one in seven grads move on to positions where this experience is utilized. Knowledge of Project Management seems to be related to bigger paychecks; in fact, skilled alumni bring in salaries that are 33 percent more than their former classmates' salaries ($76K). Most survey participants report contributing to a 401(k). Benefits are rather generous for graduates of this school; most respondents are rewarded with health insurance and more than half of former students report dental coverage, too. University of Maine graduates also take advantage of a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.
