The most popular professional field seems to be the financial services industry. Starting salaries of $60K are the median among Mizzou grads.


It's worth noting that female graduates earn a median salary of around $54K whereas the men's median is approximately $68K.


Among Mizzou graduates, the biggest earners are Business Development Directors, who haul in $105K on average. Though Jefferson City, Mo. takes the cake for lowest pay among Mizzou grads (the median salary is $41K there), it remains a common destination for former students. Other common destinations for Mizzou grads include close-by Kansas City, Mo. and Columbia, Mo.

Degree Major

Former Tigers who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Master of Science (MS), Electrical Engineering (EE) and earn a median salary of approximately $142K per year. The degree that warrants the lowest level of financial compensation is an Associate's Degree ($39K on average annually).


Former Tigers who have experience with Engineering Design can expect to make 45 percent more than other alumni ($87K on average). Project Management is a common skill among Mizzou alumni — nearly one in eight grads mention using it at work. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Data Analysis are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Just two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and merely one in three grads get paid sick time. Benefits are rather generous for graduates of this school; most grads are rewarded with health insurance and a strong majority of former students report dental coverage, too. Most survey participants set up a 401(k) to save for retirement. University of Missouri graduates also take advantage of a casual working environment, life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, and flexible hours.
