Food and Beverage Director - (City withheld for privacy), Washington, United States
All staff under me are seasonal employees, however, though years of coaching and developing, I have built a structured team with an Assistant Director, area manager and strong team leaders and have them manage their own locations. Life has been much easier with those seasoned and competent team leaders in my work.

By not understanding this companies perpetuate the gender gap by extending offers based on what women currently make not what they are worth in the market place.

How to make family #1 without letting your job suffer
Vice President (VP), Engineering (Computer Software) - (City withheld for privacy), Washington, United States
I know it seems impossible, but I've found that really sticking to an 8 or 9 hour day makes me more efficient during that time than if I worked 12 hours. Because my family is so important to me, I want to be able to leave at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. So, I make every moment at work productive. I rarely take lunch, but I'm home with my daughter for dinner almost every night.

Sr. Test / Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, (Computer Software) - (City withheld for privacy), Washington, United States
Working at night after the kids have gone to bed is really a convenient way to take care of business. However being aware of surrounding is also important, sometimes I can get into a trance and not realize what time it is. Setting an alert on your cell phone is a good way to remind yourself about the time.
