In these challenging times, it definitely is worth going back to school. Scenario: A woman who has worked in the banking industry for 18 years as a business analyst lost her job. She only had a high school diploma. She thought will her years of experience she would be able to find a job without any issue. SHE WAS WRONG. I have a Master's Degree and am a counselor/case manager out of school. Currently I'm trying to get a new job more counseling specific but the current way that this field is going makes it difficult to make a living if you are any way involved in Community Mental Health. I feel like someone needs to take a stand. I contacted a union rep about where I work and am awaiting their input on what to do next. I don't think I am being paid fairly due to the amount of education I have and the job functions that I perform. I have a MBA in accounting, but I am not allowed to even see the online/realtime bank statement, or make any decisions in the office but I am the Office/Accounting Manager. I don't have any authority to fire employees but I am part of the HR department.
