Meet Hanna Heaps, PSPO, Sr. Business Product Analyst! She was one of the first to go through PayScale’s “internalship” program in July 2017.
What was the “internship” program?
It was a 3-month experimental program for PayScale employees to work with the Product team. The concept behind the program was to give participants an idea of what the “product world” entails by guiding them through shipping and releasing real product features to PayScale customers.
Why did you choose to participate?
I had been working on the Operations team when I began to develop an interest and passion for the Product side. I really wanted to dig deeper into how a product is built from the ground up.
What do you like about the Product side?
Transitioning to the Product side has been the best thing that has happened for me! All the pieces came together to allow me to move within PayScale and find a job that has turned into a passion. My mentor through the “internalship” program is now my boss and we have a great partnership. I enjoy working closely with customers to find pain points and gaps in the products and working collaboratively with multiple teams to create a cohesive solution. I love being a part of a team that can turn an idea into an actual product that our customers value!
