The Hollywood Reporter recently published a list of entertainment executive salaries, revealing once and for all what the CEOs of companies like Disney, Viacom, CBS and Discovery earn. While salaries aren’t quite as sky-high as they were before the recession, these Hollywood moguls are still bringing in some serious cash. Here are some earnings highlights from the THR piece, followed by PayScale data on the average wages for employees at each parent company.
Leslie Moonves, CBS: $69.9 million
Moonves’ wages were the highest in the THR report; his earnings are up 21 percent from last year.
Robert Iger, Disney: $31.4 million
Iger’s salary is up 45 percent from his 2009 earnings and up 12 percent from his 2010 earnings. His pay package includes some $15.5 million in performance bonuses.
Rupert Murdoch, News Corp.: $33.3 million (2011)
Murdoch doesn’t need to disclose his current earnings until the fall, but in 2011, he earned 45 percent more than he did in the year prior.
James Dolan, Cablevision: $11.4 million
Dolan’s salary is down 15 percent from last year, although he did receive an $11.4 million bonus in 2011 to ease the burden.
