Very few of us are born knowing how to manage our time. Most of us get a handle on how to organize our days by making lots and lots of mistakes: blowing deadlines, over-committing ourselves, and generally just getting stressed out. Wouldn’t it be great to go back in time and tell our younger selves what to do — and more importantly, what not to do?
Product and marketing consultant Etienne Garbugli think so, too. Which is why he created this awesome slideshow of the lessons he wishes he’d known when he was 20.
A few highlights:
1. There’s always time. Time is priorities.
2. “Only plan for 4 -5 hours of real work per day.” – David Heinemeier Hansson, 37 Signals
3. Work more when you’re in the zone. Relax when you’re not.
The full thing is worth looking at it. It’s probably the only slideshow presentation you’ll see this week that has the potential to change your life for the better.
