But before you ponder making a leap to a company with a flatter management structure, keep this in mind: Zappos, the online shoe retailer known for speedy delivery and top-notch customer service, just made the move to a manager-free structure – and nearly 14 percent of employees liked the idea so much, they took a buyout instead.
