It would make sense that most jobs in education are related to teaching. Interestingly, it is not necessarily a requirement to teach. At the middle and high school levels, it’s common for teachers to have a degree related to the subject they teach. Although teachers usually have lower median pay, they do have the highest sense of job meaning compared to other careers. That being said, there are a number of high-earning careers in education that happen to be outside of the classroom, often in corporate settings.
Teaching Degree Specializations
There are a number of disciplines and specializations an education student can pursue. Some of these include early childhood education and childhood and family studies, communities and organizations. Teachers are also grounded with the ability to teach across multiple subjects, although some chose to specialize in specific areas of teaching, like mathematics or science.
