Compference19 Keynote Speaker: Bobbi McPherson

For Compference19, we’ve searched far and wide to assemble a variety of dynamic keynote speakers that will uplift, educate and challenge you to broaden your horizons. As such, we’re delighted to announce our final keynote speaker to round out our team of inspirational presenters for Compference19, Bobbi McPherson.

With a background as a C-level executive, Bobbi will share her perspective on the formula for success in the creation of a successful and strong values-driven workplace culture where people want to work and have a high sense of belonging.

As the chief people officer for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, Bobbi oversees a division dedicated to developing and educating administrators within the Olympic and Paralympic groups to help ensure the world-class athletes of Team USA are supported by world-class talent behind the scenes.

Bobbi joined the USOPC from Two Roads Hospitality, an international lifestyle company that operated more than 85 independent, boutique and lifestyle hotels, and was acquired by Hyatt Hotels Corporation in 2018. Supporting a dispersed workforce, Bobbi implemented processes to ensure pay and title equity across remote and property-based employees, improved team member relations through proactive training programs, and reconstituted the HR team to properly meet the needs of a post-merger workforce of 15,000 team members.

Prior to Two Roads Hospitality, Bobbi served as chief people officer for the publicly traded ski resort company Intrawest and as chief talent officer at Meritas, LLC, a Sterling Partners portfolio company providing private and boarding school education globally. Having served as the leader of talent and human resources at various companies since 2005, Bobbi has a proven track record in process improvement and a dedication to workforce education and development. She has also worked as a women’s leadership coach.

Bobbi notes, “During my last four stints as CPO, I have worked for strong purpose-driven organizations at times of change and transformation. The learning I have gained around the importance of core values and a total rewards mindset has been tremendous, and has led to my strong conviction around what is required to create a strong values-driven culture. I would like to share that with you today by sharing a few stories around what elements were missing (in my three prior experiences) from this formula. In hindsight, these missing elements detracted form our efforts and therefore held these organizations back from having the best possible cultures they could have had. I will end with an overview of the goals of the current cultural transformation underway at the USOPC and why I believe we are uniquely poised for success in our efforts at this critical inflection point.”
